A Palestinian was wounded by Israeli army gunfire in the village of Sebastia, northwest of Nablus, on Monday (14/10). The incident occurred amid escalating violence in various parts of the West Bank, including Qalqiliya, Ramallah, and Bethlehem. In the Dheisheh Refugee Camp, clashes also broke out between residents and Israeli forces, accompanied by shootings and chases.

Attacks on Palestinians were also carried out by Israeli settler groups in several villages. In the village of Yabrud, east of Ramallah, settlers reportedly burned houses and cars belonging to residents, while in Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqiliya, they attacked residents who were participating in the annual 2025 Olive Harvest. In this incident, the head of the Palestinian Authority for Resistance Against the Wall and Settlements was also among the victims.

According to reports, the settlers' attacks were carried out under the protection of the Israeli army. Two days earlier, similar violence also occurred in the Salfit area, when armed settlers attacked farmers between the villages of az-Zawiya and Rafat. Several farmers were injured after being beaten while working in their fields.

Every olive harvest season, Palestinians often face threats of violence from Israeli settler groups. In fact, the olive harvest is the main source of livelihood for thousands of families in the West Bank. However, the season that should bring prosperity often turns into a period of tension due to provocations and attacks from settlers who want to expand illegal settlements.

The Palestinian government considers the violence by settlers, with the support of the Israeli army, to be a systematic attempt to drive the indigenous population from their land. Official data shows that since the war in the Gaza Strip began, violence in the West Bank has increased sharply, with more than 1,051 Palestinians killed, 10,300 injured, and 20,000 arrested — including about 400 children.
