The director of the Gaza Civil Society Network, Amjad Shawa, revealed that more than 1.5 million Palestinians have now lost their homes and around 60 million tons of rubble cover the Gaza Strip after two years of devastating Israeli airstrikes. He called this situation a major humanitarian disaster unprecedented in modern history.

Shawa explained that around 300,000 to 400,000 residents who had previously fled began returning to Gaza City and the northern region since the ceasefire was implemented. However, their return was met with extremely dire living conditions as almost all infrastructure, including housing and public services, had collapsed.

According to him, more than 80 percent of homes in Gaza have been completely destroyed, making the reconstruction of the region a major challenge in the near future. He emphasized the importance of global support to help rebuild the lives of the people of Gaza, who are now living without proper shelter.

Shawa also called for immediate international intervention to launch a comprehensive recovery and rescue plan in the devastated region. He believes that without swift action, the suffering of Gaza's residents will worsen amid a lack of resources and severely damaged infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Medical Aid Agency in Gaza warned that health facilities in the region are now in critical condition due to a shortage of medical supplies. Medicines, IV fluids, sterilization equipment, and first aid supplies are running low. He warned that if this situation is not addressed immediately, Gaza's health system risks total collapse and will no longer be able to serve thousands of patients and war casualties.
