Jenin Ablaze: Israeli Attack Kills Three Hamas Members, Dozens of Palestinians Arrested

The military wing of Hamas, the Izzuddin Al-Qassam Brigades, announced the deaths of three of its members — Abdullah Jalameh, Qais Al-Baytawi, and Ahmad Nashrati — after a firefight with Israeli forces west of the city of Jenin, West Bank. Al-Qassam asserted that Israel's military operations would not stop their struggle against the occupation. According to Israeli media reports, the three fighters were hiding in a cave before being attacked by the air force based on intelligence from Shin Bet. Israeli forces also surrounded a house in the western part of Jenin, triggering armed clashes and a large explosion that caused a fire in the surrounding area.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement strongly condemned the attack and called it a new war crime. They said the use of snipers and airstrikes in densely populated areas demonstrated Israel’s growing brutality.

On the Israeli side, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that any attempt by armed groups to rebuild their strength in the West Bank would be met with force. He confirmed that Israeli troops would remain deployed in the Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams refugee camps to prevent further attacks.

Additionally, Israeli forces arrested 10 Palestinians and issued five new military orders to confiscate approximately 73 dunams of land in Ramallah and Al-Bireh for “security reasons.” Palestinian institutions reported that since 2023, Israel has established 30 buffer zones and confiscated more than 75,000 dunams of land in the West Bank.
